Yo!
September has ended so it's time to wake up! (If you get this reference you are pretty old ahaha.)
It should just be about crunch time for you guys (if you're still schooling, that is). While everyone is caught up in a flurry of studying and revising, perhaps it's good to take some time off to intentionally dive into God's presence – to meditate upon His Word, converse with Him, or simply sing praises unto Him.
Jesus says this in John 15:4–5: "Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing."
To abide literally means to remain. Jesus tells us that we are to remain in Him because apart from Him we can't do anything. And "remaining" means that our entire lives are lived within His presence; it means that every single bit of our lives is about Christ – there is no way to separate our "spiritual" lives with our "secular" lives.
And really the only way we can remain tethered to God is by spending time and effort building our relationship with Him. So after reading this, consider taking a break from studying just to cozy into your personal fig tree – your private space with God.
